Tungsten Wedding Bands

If you’re looking for a long-lasting and scratch-proof wedding band, you need one made from tungsten carbide. Tungsten carbide wedding bands – or simply called tungsten for simplicity’s sake – are durable, scratch-proof, will never dent, and they will resist disfigurement. Tungsten carbide is one of the strongest, densest, most scratch-resistant metals available for making wedding bands. Harder than gold, steel, and titanium, tungsten carbide will keep its shine and shape for the entire life of the ring. Tungsten carbide is made from equal parts tungsten and carbide and then polished with a diamond compound. This highly polished appearance will last the entire time you have the ring. The ring will resist scratching, denting, and other surface flaws. This is because of the hardness of the metal. No other metal ring will last as long as a tungsten carbide ring. These tungsten wedding bands are available in simple forms, or with special inlays of gold, leather, or stones. Rings with inlay will tend to be slightly more fragile, but overall, tungsten carbide rings are very strong and durable. People who own tungsten carbide bands are advised not to bang or tap their rings against hard or metal objects like hammers or metal surfaces. This could cause their rings to shatter or fracture. Otherwise, rings made of this material are very long-lasting and will resist damage caused by normal use. If you find that your tungsten carbide wedding band does not fit properly, you will have to get a new one, because the metal is so hard that it is not easily worked into a new size. It cannot be cut and then welded as other materials. Some jewelers offer an exchange program where you can get a new size if your ring size ever changes – provided you can show proof of purchase, of course.
